Antique Machines
(this is just a list of machines; how old they are etc.)
Backehoebob has several machines that are 'antique machines' in which DO NOT go on jobsites. These machines make several apperences throughout the year through the Easy Diggin' Chapter New Jersey functions.
They are:
2 Michigan Loaders
Brief overview: The first Michigan Loader was bought many years ago. It's believed that the machine is from the 60's or so. The second Michigan Loader was purchased in 2004 or so and has not made any formal Easy Diggin' Chapter NJ apperences. The orginial machine has worked on several occasions including the snowstorms of the late 90's. The machine has been to the Easy Diggin' Chapter NJ show on two or three occasions and will make a return sometime.
2 Balmar Tractors
Brief Overview: Both machines were saved from being completly distroyed in 2007. The better of the two machines was in the process of being cut up when Backhoebob purchased the two machines. Neither machine has been identifed for a specific year yet; and we are in the process of getting them to run.
Wheel Horse Garden Tractor
Brief Overview: This machine was purchased in the 1990's, most likey in 1996. This particular machine we gather is at least 30 years old to the best of our knowledge. Wheel Horse has since gone out of business; bought up by Toro; and we use the machine to pull thing around the house. It's largest thing it's moved: a 1986 Dodge Lancer.
1984 Dynahoe Tractor
Brief Overview: It's still got another two years to be officially 'antique' in the Easy Diggin' Chapter New Jersey rules but in our eyes it's already there. Being the LARGEST machine owned by Backhoebob. This machine was purchased in 2005; off of Mitchelle Contracting as part of a massive sale as the business was beginning to close up. We've been able to have it run and operate and just working on a few loose ends to get it to perfect operating condition.
Western Road Grader
Brief Overview: Backhoebob bought this machine in early 2008, and is in the process of restoring the machine. He bought this at an auction of equipment through the town of Livingston. Backhoebob grew up in Livingston, NJ, and worked for the town indirectly during snowstorms in the 70's thru the 80's. Backhoebob plans on restoring the machine as a tribute to his years of service with the town and the people he met. Backhoebob plans on keeping the machine in working order until he can restore it properly.
